Millennials, this one’s for you.
A startup wants to give Budweiser and other economy brews a more interesting taste, one drop at a time. The drops are bottled and packaged in East Naples, Florida. Manufacturing for Mad Hops Flavored Brew Drops began in September at Alternative Labs off Linwood Avenue with an initial run of 5,000 bottles.
“We’re running on empty,” said Peter Hanley, a New York resident who created the drops for 20-somethings. Another run will start soon. This time it will produce 35,000 bottles.
In fact, Hanley counts Alternative Labs’ CEO Kevin Thomas as one of his biggest believers.
“It’s one of the top three unique-to-market trendsetting products I’ve seen,” Thomas said. “It creates demand for a category that has no players.”
Thomas is also impressed by the quality of the product, which changes not only the flavor of beer, but also its color, aroma and mouthfeel.
“It’s fun, and most compelling, it’s delicious,” he said.
